MEA Compensation Trends in the Current Economy

Presented by:

Carrie S. Theisen, SPHR bio

Sr. Human Resources Consultant

MidAtlantic Employers’ Association

How have difficult economic conditions and demographic changes affected total compensation both in the region and nationwide? The recession and higher unemployment rates coupled with a shortage of skilled workers have caused pay rates for some positions to drop while other salaries have risen dramatically. This session uses current research to explain how compensation may be affected in 2012 and beyond and explores best practices for managing compensation and benefits programs to ensure organizational success.
